TAKE ACTION! WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP THE GREY SEALS
You can take direct action by doing the following:
1. Take part in our most recent Action Alert by using our easy email guide HERE to send a quick email to Nova Scotia's Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, and to Canada's Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, with copies to various government officials and leaders of political parties to warn them against proceeding with plans to expand the grey seal hunt and to allow fishermen access to protected areas to slaughter grey seals en masse.

Everything you need is HERE - names, email addresses, links to lists of MLAs and MPs, and suggested email text.

2. Write to government expressing your condemnation of the unnecessary and brutal killing of grey seals

Send letters and emails to the Premier of Nova Scotia, with a copy to your local MP and to the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Minister of Environment and Labour and Minister of Natural Resources, expressing your opposition to the killing of grey seals under any pretext - commercial or cull. Follow up your written and/or electronic communcation with a telephone call to remind them that you are are a voter and are willing and able to make this a voting issue. Fishermen are not the only people in this province with voting power.

3. Write to local and national papers

So far, this fairly new commercial seal hunt has occurred without much public notice or outcry because it's been kept very low-key by government and seal killers. Let's change this. Write letters to your local newspapers as well as national papers, bringing this to the attention of their readers.

4. Raise Awareness

Talk to people about this issue whenever possible. Educate others. Urge them to take action. If you'd like to volunteer in the effort to end this, please send us an email.

We'll be updating this site shortly with other ways in which you can help to end the killing of grey seals. Please keep checking back.
